[公告] Sacred Relics Visit Irvine, CA
Hello All!
A precious collection of
sacred relics of the Buddha and many other Buddhist
masters http://www.maitreyaproject.org/en/relic.html
currently touring
the world, is stopping in Irvine on July 13th, 14th, and 15th
at the Cross Cultural Center in the University of California Irvine
Friday, July 13 is the
opening ceremony to welcome the relics. We welcome any clergy
interested in formally participating in the opening ceremony to contact
us. Attendance to the opening ceremony is open to the public. The
main days for viewing the relics and receiving personal blessings are
Saturday the 14th and Sunday the 15th.
This is a rare
opportunity to be in the presence of actual remains of the historical
Buddha's body (Shakyamuni) as well as those of 29 important Buddhist
saints and disciples such as Ananda, Sariputra, Nagarjuna, Milarepa, and
many great Tibetan, Chinese and Indian masters and lineage founders.
Living Buddhist masters
from a number of traditions and countries, including Burma, Indonesia,
Thailand,
Tibet and Taiwan, have donated relics to
the tour, including the relics of Shakyamuni Buddha which were offered by
His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
Many visitors have
reported experiences of inspiration and healing while in the presence of
the relics, and all visitors (if they desire) will have the
opportunity to be blessed individually with the relics by a monk.
There is no entrance
charge, although donations are welcome, and it will be a first-arrived,
first-entry event: no advanced tickets or reservations. All
donations will go to the wonderful work of the Maitreya Project
(www.maitreyaproject.org).
We hope you will accept
our invitation to attend this event and that you forward this
invitation to members of your dharma community and any family and
friends who may be interested in
seeing the relics or could benefit from them.
If you know anyone
interested in volunteering to assist at the temple on any of the days of
the relics visit, we would welcome it! Just tell them to send me an email.
All the blessings,
Michael Tran
